Big Fin Bay on Mobile
Variable-height reels, Expanding Wild animations, and the 117,649-way bonus expansion — running smoothly on Thunderkick's proven HTML5 build.
Device Compatibility
Big Fin Bay's variable reel system creates a visually dynamic mobile experience. Reels physically change height every spin — some showing 3 rows, others 5 or 7. The animation is smooth and satisfying to watch. When an Expanding Wild lands, it sweeps across the entire reel with a wave effect that's cinematic even on a 5.5-inch phone screen. Thunderkick's animation quality is a legitimate differentiator here.
The marine theme uses a palette that works beautifully on both OLED and LCD displays. Cool blues, deep greens, warm coral accents. Premium symbols (Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna) have enough visual detail to identify instantly at mobile size without being cluttered. The Bonus Game transition — all reels expanding to 7 rows — plays as a genuinely satisfying visual event that makes you feel the math changing beneath you.

40-55fps. Reel height changes may snap instead of animate. Expanding Wild effect simplified to a quick fill. Core mechanics intact. Battery: ~13% per hour.
Troubleshooting
Reel height changes look jerky or skip frames
Variable reel animation needs GPU acceleration. Close background apps and browser tabs. On budget devices, the reel may snap to its final height instead of smoothly transitioning — this is normal visual simplification. Mechanics still work correctly.
Expanding Wild doesn't seem to fill the entire reel
Expanding Wilds fill all VISIBLE rows on their reel. If a reel shows 4 rows in base game, the wild covers 4 positions. During the bonus at 7 rows, it covers 7. The wild always fills 100% of visible positions — the reel height just varies.
Mystery Wild doesn't appear to trigger
Mystery Wild adds wilds AFTER the initial reel stop. If you're using turbo spin, the addition can look instant. Check the win counter — if it spiked compared to the initial reel result, Mystery Wild fired. The feature applies even if the animation is truncated.
Bonus Game grid feels cramped on small phone
42 symbols on screen (6 reels x 7 rows) is a lot for a phone under 6 inches. Landscape mode helps considerably. On very small screens, some visual simplification occurs automatically. All gameplay functionality remains intact regardless of display size.
